PERRY — The Westover’s boys basketball team stayed undefeated with a 63-58 victory against Perry late Tuesday night, setting up a showdown of unbeatens Friday when Monroe (10-0) visits Westover (11-0) in the most talked-about game of the season so far.
Malcolm Sapp led the Patriots past Perry with 18 points. Onochie Ochie scored 15 points and Chris Wheeler added 14 for Westover, which built a big lead early and never trailed on the road.
Monroe, meanwhile, beat city rival Dougherty on Tuesday and will face its other nemesis, Albany, on Saturday after playing Westover.

DUNSON DYNAMITE HEADING INTO REMATCH VS. RANDOLPH-CLAY:
Maybe The Herald’s Super Six should’ve been a Super Seven this season.
Because slowly but surely, Westover’s Dytiesha Dunson is proving she belongs on that list of the area’s best players.
Dunson, just a sophomore, scored a career-high 31 points late Tuesday in a huge, 56-50 win against Region 1-AAA rival Perry and improving Herald
No. 3 Westover’s overall record to 9-1. But more importantly, a perfect 3-0 in region. Dunson was also the only Lady Patriots to reach double figures.
The performance was an important confidence boost for the Lady Patriots, who get set to avenge the only blemish of their record this Saturday when they travel to face super-scorer Destiny
Mitchell and Randolph-Clay.
Dunson’s 31 points represents the third best game of any area girls player this season. Herald No. 2 Randolph-Clay’s Mitchell dropped a staggering 53 on Herald No. 1 Bainbridge earlier this year in the Lady Red Devils’ only loss, and Americus-Sumter’s Jayme Gilbert has scored 37 points twice for the Lady Panthers.

RANDOLPH SOUTHERN BOYS KEEP ROLLING:
The Patriots’ Kevin Melton made all five of his 3-point attempts during the first half, and a total defensive effort gave coach Robert Bryant’s team the victory, 70-63, against rival Westwood.
Melton finished with 26 points, followed by Tanner Stone with 25.
“Kevin was just on fire,” said Bryant, whose team is 7-1 overall and 1-0 in GISA Region 3-A.
Mason Jones scored 21 for Westwood, followed by John Vereen with 19 and Andrew Adams with 14.

TAE BOYS MOVE TO 9-0:
Nine up, nine down.
That’s the tally for the still-unbeaten Eagles, who beat Brookwood, 35-30, late Tuesday to move to a perfect 9-0.
Eagles coach Rundy Foster’s team next hosts neighbor and region rival Randolph Southern on Friday in Terrell Academy’s GISA 3-A opener.
“I do know one thing: We’re going to have to play a lot better than we did (Tuesday) night if we want to keep this (unbeaten record) going,” he said.
TAE’s Clay Willis led all scorers with 15 points.
