Former President Jimmy Carter is not scheduled to teach Sunday School this Sunday at Maranatha Baptist Church in Plains. His next scheduled visit to the church is Aug. 2 at 10 a.m.

EVENTS

Vilulah Baptist Church in Coleman will conduct homecoming services at 10 a.m. Sunday with special music and praise services by Patchitla Creek Pickers. The 11 a.m. worship service will be led by the Rev. Jackie Williams of Bluffton. A covered dish dinner will follow. The church will conduct revival services Monday through Wednesday at 7 p.m. each date. The Rev. Daniel McFather of Cuthbert will be guest minister.

Cray Chapel CME Church will conduct its Youth Explosion 2015 Wednesday through Saturday. Vacation Bible School is planned Wednesday and Thursday from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.. Youth revival services are planned at 7 p.m. Friday featuring the Rev. Marcus Rogers of Augusta. Saturday’s events include the Back to School Youth Explosion Praise and Worship starting with a breakfast snack at 9:30 a.m. From 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., the program includes workshops, games, door prizes, food and fun. New Jerusalem Faith Church will host a musical concert and CD signing for Evangelist Willie Clyde Brown at 6 p.m. at the church, which is located at 2117 S. Madison St. Brown will be in concert with other singers and choirs in the city. The program is free and open to the public. All proceeds from the concert will go to the building fund of New Jerusalem Faith Church.

Brookfield Methodist Church will host a gospel concert at 5 p.m. on Aug. 2 featuring Mark Fuller. Fuller played piano for 10 years with Eva Mae Lefevre and has been featured on the Bill Gaither video series. A love offering will be accepted. For more information, call (226) 567-3053.
