Rep. Darrel Ealum to speak at Albany town hall meeting

ALBANY — Jon Howard, Albany Ward 1 commissioner, is hosting a monthly town hall meeting Saturday featuring Georgia House District 153 Rep. Darrel Ealum as speaker.

According to Howard, Ealum will provide an update on controversial bills introduced in the 2015 Georgia Legislature which could have a “profound impact” on the local school system, tax base and overall standard of living.

“This is urgent,” Howard said in a statement. “Please invite your neighbors, friends and students to the meeting and get involved. Be engaged and informed about community issues.”

The town hall meeting is set for 10 a.m. at East Albany Community Center, 1721 E. Oglethorpe Blvd., Howard said, and will last about 90 minutes.
