Saturday armed robbery reported in East Albany

ALBANY — An armed robbery is reported to have taken place in East Albany early Saturday.

A 46-year-old man flagged down an officer on the 200 block of West Oglethorpe Boulevard and reported that he was approached by three men and robbed at gunpoint while at the automated teller machine at the Pilot Truck Stop located at 310 Cordele Road at around 1:15 a.m., said Phyllis Banks, spokeswoman for the Albany Police Department.

He stated they demanded he finish the transaction, after which they took his cash and his wallet, Banks said.

No arrests were made. The case remains under investigation, Banks said.
