SCA girls upend Randolph Southern

Sherwood Christian’s girls edged Randolph Southern, 42-41, thanks to clutch play by Kaylee Dixon. After the Lady Eagles made two free throws to take the lead for good, Dixon took a charge which sealed the game.

“We had some players in foul trouble this time,” said SCA coach Rebecca Fyock, whose team beat the Lady Patriots by 10 in their first meeting this year. “We didn’t produce some offense toward the end of the game, but (Dixon) helped us pull it out.”

Randolph Southern was led by Crystal McDaniel, who scored 14.

MOUNT OLIVE BOYS 69, BYNE 44: The Byne boys basketball team lost, 69-44, against Mount Olive on Thursday. The Saints’ Josh Hughes led the way with 19 points, including two 3-pointers.

Byne’s record now is 2-2.
