South Georgians win first in bass tournament benefiting Megans House

ALBANY — A pair of anglers from Bainbridge and Plains claimed first place in the 39th annual Team Bass Tournament to benefit Megan’s House on Saturday, officials with the Easter Seals Southern Georgia announced Tuesday.
Clint Meeks of Plains and Clint Brown of Bainbridge comprised the winning team at the event conducted at Lake Point Resort State Park on Lake Walter F. George. the competition began at 7 a.m. and included 118 boats.
In addition to Meeks and Brown, top finishers were Scott Gilly of Dawson and Joe Durham Jr. of Albany, 2nd place; Les Bratcher of Ashford, Ala., and Stan Sims of Wells, Ala., 3rd place; Bryan Smith of Tyrone and Brent Deal of Panama City, Fla., 4th place; Jay Grogan of Fort Mitchell, Ala., and Ryan Ingram of Phenix City, Ala., 5th place; Larry Jones of Columbus and Randy Duncan of Rock City, Texas, lunker.
Megan’s House is a respite home for children up to age 17 who have developmental disabilities or autism, or who are medically fragile. Megan’s House services are provided in Albany, Valdosta and Waycross.
