SOWEGA Council on Aging offering Medicare open enrollment assistance

ALBANY — Southwest Georgians who need assistance with Medicare enrollment before the deadline are in luck this weekend.
The SOWEGA Council on Aging GeorgiaCares program is offering last minute assistance for Medicare open enrollment from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m.-5 p.m. on Sunday at the Kay H. Hind Senior Life Enrichment Center at 335 W. Society Avenue.
Individuals needing assistance with choosing a Medicare plan may make an appointment by calling (229) 432-1124. Coordinators say walk-ins are also welcome.
Open enrollment ends on Sunday.

According to AAA, the average price for a gallon of regular gasoline in the Albany metro area was approximately $3.45 this week, making Albany the second-least expensive metro market in Georgia behind Dalton at $3.41 and slightly ahead of Brunswick at $3.48.
