COVINGTON — A little remediation may be in order for a group of men who got into a fight outside a Georgia anger management class.
Covington police were called to the probation office at 2195 Pace St. Sunday morning in reference to an assault that had just occurred. The 29-year-old victim told police that he was confronted by two brothers, 24-year-old Brandon Fox and Justin Fox, 26, who both reside at 8 Hemlock St. in Porterdale, as he was about to head into the anger management class.
“(The victim) stated that when they pulled up, Brandon started the argument with him while Justin got out of the car to attend the same class that (the victim) is in,” the incident report states.
The victim told police later that the incident started because of some Facebook messages where Brandon and a woman accused him of stealing and damaging some of the female’s belongings in a burglary.
The argument seemed to be at an end when Brandon Fox started to back the car out of the parking space, but then Justin Fox and the victim continued talking at which time ”Brandon stopped the car and got out saying, ‘You ain’t gonna talk s—- to my brother. Not when I’m here,’” the Covington Police Department reported.
At that point, the victim and Brandon Fox started fighting and the victim put Brandon Fox in a chokehold. Accounts vary, but the victim was struck in the face by either Brandon Fox or Justin Fox and ultimately required medical attention.
Other members of the anger management class who saw the melee jumped in and broke up the fight. The Fox brothers then left the scene, but were later located and transported to the Newton County Detention Center. The Fox brothers were charged with disorderly conduct, and according to the CPD report, the victim too will be charged, but was first transported to Newton Medical Center to undergo treatment and a series of tests to assess the extent of his injuries.
