SENTENCING OF THOMASTON HOUSING AUTHORITY EMPLOYEES

Michael J. Moore, United States Attorney for the Middle District of Georgia, announced that the following people were sentenced January 17, 2012, following a jury guilty verdict, on One Count of Conspiracy to Commit Theft from an Organization Receiving Federal Funds before the Honorable Mark Treadwell, United States District Court, Macon, Georgia:

  1. Sherry Darlene McDaniel was sentenced to forty-one months in the custody of the Bureau of Prisons; fine of $20,000.00 imposed; followed by three years supervised release; and a mandatory assessment fee of $100.00.
  2. Lance McDaniel was sentenced to serve thirty-three months in the custody of the Bureau of Prisons; fine of $20,000.00 imposed; followed by three years supervised

release; and a mandatory assessment fee of $100.00.

While serving as an agent of a local government agency, the Thomaston Housing Authority, Sherry Darlene McDaniel, along with her husband, Lance McDaniel conspired to steal government money Sherry Darlene McDaniel served as the Executive Director and her husband, Lance McDaniel, served as a full time employee with the Thomaston Housing Authority.
