ALBANY — As school winds down to a close, nothing hearkens quite like the sound of excited children happy to be out of school for the summer.

Fortunately, there are plenty of ways they can keep busy and entertained this summer; we’ve put together a list of summer activities available in the surrounding area.

Night Crawlers: Ages 5 – 12; June 30 – July 3 or July 21 – July 24 from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.; Cost: $95. Ever wonder what goes bump in the night? It could be an owl, a wolf, a bear or many other creatures that stay up after dark at Chehaw. Join us for a special evening camp that happens after dark. Camp includes a special zoo dinner.

Jumanji Camp: Ages 8 – 12; June 9 – 13 or July 14 – 18 or July 28 – August 1 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Cost: $160. While survival is not a game in the heart of the jungle, campers will be thrilled to play survival games as we explore jungles and their animal inhabitants. This week will be action packed, leading up to a canoe trip down the Muckalee, through a little Georgia Jungle, camping under the stars at the Swamp House, and watching Jumanji on the big screen. Includes overnight.

Reptile Camp: Ages 5-12, June 16-20 or July 21-25 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m; Cost: $130. Scaly and cold-blooded, these reptilian creatures are everywhere and not as scary as you may think. Journey across the globe to find some of the
