ALBANY, Ga. — One of two bricks thrown through a van’s windows struck and injured a 9-year-old boy at about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, an Albany Police Department report said.
Jaleen Stevens was treated at the scene by Dougherty County Emergency Medical Services personnel and released, APD spokeswoman Phyllis Banks said.
Bertram Derek Stewart, 33, is wanted on five terroristic threat warrants and one reckless conduct warrant for throwing the bricks through the windows of driver Alecia Whitlock’s van, Banks said.
“(Whitlock) was travelling east on Leonard Avenue when her Dodge Sport Grand Caravan was struck by two bricks. One of the bricks shattered her driver-side window, and the second shattered her back window,” Banks said. “During the incident, a 9-year-old male juvenile was struck with one of the bricks. There were four juveniles in the van at the time of the incident.”
Stewart was last seen running west on Leonard Avenue, dressed in blue jeans and a white shirt, Banks said. The police would like residents’ help in finding him, she added.
