ALBANY — Police arrested four burglary suspects Friday and a man accused of three “smash and grabs” from Albany businesses.

Officials say Francis Chang, 34, was arrested Friday morning by Albany Police and charged with the Thursday break-ins of Kmart, Dollar General and Bush Animal Clinic, all on Dawson Road. The suspect is accused of taking an undetermined amount of cigarettes and jewelry plus a bottle of antihistamine pills from the Bush clinic.

An Albany Police Department spokeswoman said Chang was transported to the Dougherty County jail, where he is charged with three counts of smash and grab.

In a separate case, officials say a 17-year-old and three 16-year-old juvenile males were charged on Friday with burglary for allegedly breaking into a home in west Albany on Thursday night.

According to an APD spokeswoman, items taken include and iPad and an unspecified amount of cash.
