ALBANY — Three suspects in the break-in of a storage facility and sale of its contents have been arrested and charged, police officials say.

According to Phyllis Banks, spokeswoman for the Albany Police Department, Timothy Nichols is charged with burglary in connection with the break-in of a personal storage facility on the 2100 block of Monroe Street and the theft of its contents. The unnamed victim told investigators that property worth approximately $52,000, including shoes, clothes and other items, were taken.

Police officials said Nichols later tried to sell the property through social media sites as well as at Superior Creek Lodge on North Slappey Boulevard. During a search warrant executed Wednesday at Superior Creek Lodge, several large bags of the stolen property were recovered and returned to its owner, police officials say.

Police officials say Kandace Cox was arrested during the search and charged with receiving stolen property.

On Thursday, police said a “buy” was arranged by investigators in the parking lot of Target on Dawson Road, where Nichols was arrested and charged with burglary and Tessa Griffin was charged with receiving stolen property.
