Sylvester cop arrested in tampering with evidence charge

SYLVESTER — A veteran officer with the Sylvester Police Department has been arrested and is being held in the Worth County jail, police officials say.

George Hall, a nine-year veteran of the Sylvester law enforcement agency, was arrested around 3 p.m. Tuesday and charged with violation of oath of office, making false statements and tampering with evidence, said Lt. Ronnie Graddy, investigation division commander of the SPD.

Graddy said the case is currently being investigated by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation
