Terrell County track & field teams claim region titles

CAMILLA — Terrell County took a clean sweep in the Region 1-A track & field meet Saturday at Mitchell County High School.

The Greenwaves ran away in the boys competition, using titles in eight events to win with ease. The Terrell boys finished with 196 points. Calhoun County finished second with 120 points.

On the girls side, the team standings were a little closer. The Lady Greenwaves finished with 170 compared to 102 for second-place Baconton Charter.

The top four finishers in each event advanced to the area meet Wednesday at Mitchell County.
