Debutantes recognized at annual ball

ALBANY — The 2009 debutantes were recently presented at the Charity League’s 49th annual Debutante Ball.

A group of 16 debutantes were spotlighted, as was their accomplishment of raising $20,000 with the 2nd annual Debutante Club Golf Tournament, deemed Birdies for Charity, last summer. Proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit Mission Change, the Albany Humane Society and the American Red Cross.

During the ball each debutante was recognized for their participation in at least 20 hours of volunteer work within the community.
