The Deerfield-Windsor School One-Act Play won the first runner-up award in the GISA AAA One Act Play competition

ALBANY — The Deerfield-Windsor School One-Act Play won the first runner-up award in the GISA AAA One Act Play competition held recently at Darton State College.

Mary Larkin Carden garnered one of five Outstanding Actor Awards presented at the competition.

DWS performed “The Cripple of Inishmann” by Martin McDonagh. The play is a comedy about a young man living on a remote island off Ireland who dreams of stardom when an American director visits the island to cast his film.

The play was directed by Lindsey Stewart. The cast included Lacey Coleman, Abby Simmons, Hadden Kelley, Charles Stern, Reed Reynolds, Mary Larkin Carden, Taylor Richter, and Matt Williams. The technical crew included Samaria Bridges, Ryn Cromartie, Tyler Jennings, Mary McCain Potter, Jackson Eubanks, Hannah Sims, and Hana Ghiathi.

DWS won the state championship in 2012 and 2013.
