ALBANY — A man called a predator by the Dougherty County district attorney left jail on a $10,000 bond Tuesday, the same day he was arrested for sex crimes with an 11-year-old girl.
“This was a particularly brutal crime on this young girl,” Greg Edwards, district attorney, has said. “This is a particularly chilling example of the dangers that are out there from these types of predatory individuals.”
Anthony Bernard Jackson, 20, was arrested at about 7 a.m. at 616 Gaines Ave. on warrants for two counts of rape, party to a crime and aggravated sodomy, said Dougherty County Sheriff’s Capt. Craig Dodd.
Before 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, he was released on a bond set by Judge Denise Marshall, said a Dougherty County Jail spokeswoman.
Jackson had previously been indicted in August, 2010 on charges stemming from a 2009 attack on a female. Allegedly Jackson punched, slapped and put a gun to the head of a female victim.
Also arrested on warrants for counts of rape, aggravated sodomy against a child under 10 years of age, and aggravated child molestation, Jawaskie Luke, “J Rock,” 18, was arrested at 2020 S. Madison St. Tuesday, Dodd said. Luke also had a parole violation.
Luke remained in Dougherty County Jail with no bond set, said a jail spokeswoman.
