ALBANY — The Dougherty County School Board will hold a special called meeting at the school administration building at 5 p.m.

The Board is expected to approve an amended contract for Interim Superintendent Butch Mosely in which Mosely will work for half of his original pay until June 30, 2014. The Board is also expected to discuss the fate of Dougherty High Principal Ryan Gravitt, who was hired after a short stint as an assistant principal at Monroe High.

The controversy surrounding Mosely began late last month after the Georgia Board of Education approved the system’s request of a waiver from a new “49 percenter” law which limits the number of hours state retirees can earn while still drawing their pensions from the Teacher Retirement System of Georgia (TRS).

The TRS rejected two previous contract proposals from the DCSS before Mosely finally relented and said he would be willing to draw 49 percent of his current salary to remain on the job until the end of the fiscal year.
