LEESBURG — Lee County narcotics team sheriff’s deputies caught 21-year-old Jamie Ryan Doyle in possession of cocaine and arrested him at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, Lee County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Lewis Harris said. He was arrested at 3001 N. Slappey Blvd. near a fast-food restaurant.

It started as a traffic stop, Deputy Brendon Browning said. When deputies pulled Doyle over, he drove to the rear of the Wendy’s restaurant parking lot, jumped out of a black Dodge Challenger and ran, Browning added.

“He ran west, but we got him,” Browning said. “He had two crack cocaine rocks on him.”

Doyle had been on the Albany Area Crime Stoppers Most Wanted list since February. He has two active arrest warrants for burglary and felony theft by taking in Dougherty County. His first appearance before a judge will be today in Leesburg.
