Wealthy know how to farm tax breaks

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

JOHN BRYANT

About six or seven years ago, I overheard a lady in another town talking on the phone about a peanut allotment. Her father had passed away and she was wondering if it would continue in her name.

All this popped back up in my mind when the media said that Michael Dell of Dell Computers was getting a tax write-off for deer farming.

I know Georgia farmers have been charging Florida whitetail deer hunters for years. As a matter of fact, people from the whole world come to the surrounding counties for the quail and deer.

This makes me wonder of Ted Turner with all his land in Colorado claims he is buffalo farming. You guess it. All for a tax write-off.
