Winn-Dixie on Oakridge set to close

ALBANY — The Winn Dixie supermarket at 200 E. Oakridge Drive will be closing, but company officials have not set a specific date for the closure.
“Business conditions occasionally force companies like ours to make tough strategic changes and decisions that have an adverse effect on our valued Winn-Dixie team members,” said Rondel Cuyler, director of public relations at Winn Dixie headquarters.
“We are working diligently to ensure that all of our team members affected by these decisions are treated with dignity and respect, and team members are encouraged to apply for other positions within the company before the store closes or their release date.
At this time the exact date of the store closure has not been confirmed or announced.”
Winn-Dixie also has three other supermarket locations in metro Albany — Old Dawson Road and Sylvester Road in Albany and on U.S. Highway 19 in south Lee County.
