Women’s health expo taking place at Mirian Worthy Women’s Health Center

ALBANY — The “Women Are Worthy” Women’s Health Expo is being held Thursday at the Mirian Worthy Women’s Health Center, 401 S. Madison St. from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Usually held during National Women’s Health Week, this year’s event is expected to include about two dozen vendors and donations from area establishments that will be raffled. Originally scheduled for last week, it was postponed due to inclement weather.

Mirian Worthy, after whom the clinic is named, is scheduled to speak. Some of the items expected to be raffled include gift cards and baskets from area car washes, nail salons, restaurants, as well as Target, Publix and Homerun Foods. Some jewelry also has been donated for the raffle, said Brook Shivers, the case manager at the clinic.
