ALBANY — A woman died when a tractor-trailer smashed into her Toyota at about 12:25 p.m. Tuesday, said Worth County Sheriff Freddie Tompkins.

The tractor-trailer driver, William Fishbaugh, 61, an Ohio resident, was charged with first-degree vehicular homicide, reckless driving and running a stop sign, Tompkins said. Fishbaugh was taken to Worth County Jail, he added.

The tractor-trailer was headed north on state Route 112 when it went through a stop sign, Tompkins said. The Toyota was driving south on 112 at the time of the crash, he said.

Tompkins did not release the name of the deceased driver. He referred questions to Georgia State Patrol Troopers. The Georgia State Patrol could not be reached by press time.
