To the Editor:

On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I would like to express condolences to the family, colleagues and many friends of long-time Albany attorney G. Peter “Pete” Donaldson III on his passing at the age of 77.

A member of the Georgia Bar since 1972, Mr. Donaldson practiced law in south Georgia for more than 52 years with a focus on civil and criminal trial work. A leader among his peers, he was a valued member of the Board of Governors of the State Bar, a past president of the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and a founding member and later chair of the Georgia Indigent Defense Council.

Pete Donaldson’s distinguished career of service is an inspiration to all Georgia lawyers. We are appreciative of his many contributions to the legal profession and justice system of our state. He will be missed and fondly remembered.

Sincerely,

Ivy N. Cadle
