LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Politicians are pulling down, not lifting up, the nation

First of all, I would like to write that I am so proud to be an American. And, thanks to the 1st amendment, I can sit at my desk or table and read all about the America that I believe is still a great place to live in.
I am so pleased and thankful that I don’t have to go all the way to Switzerland to find negativity. The liberals, Democrats and, yes, the Republicans are doing their share to demolish American standards.
The presidential candidates and the do-nothing Congress should be uniting, repairing and healing America.
