LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Unite for freedom

Dear Editor:

We’re only here in passing

We are not here to stay

We are here to fight for freedom

To show the better way.

Our nation is a beacon

Atop a shining hill.

To show our God is Sovereign

And that He is living still.

Within the hearts of people

Who love to do His will.

But lawlessness is rampant

And sin is like the tide

And evil knows no limits

And hate is on the rise

We must not let the evil

That lurks in every heart

Be ignited as a fire that

Tries to tear apart

All that our Fathers fought for

The foundation on which we stand

We cannot build a nation

Upon the sinking sand

For freedom is a privilege

Some say it is a right

But in either case it’s fragile

If you don’t hold it tight

For freedom is a privilege

That we must hold so dear

I fear it can be torn away

If we do not have this clear.
