LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Albany resident marks her 96th birthday

On Friday the 8th of April, I, Nadine M. Mathis, reached 96 years old, and I am proud to be here, writing and being happy. All of my friends and relatives are gone, dying at earlier ages. I don’t know why, but I say live, let live and go with the flow, however and whatever. We don’t get to change anything.
I do as I want 24/7 and try to stay cool, calm and collected for whatever. I love peace, love and forgiveness. So be it. I am a blessed person. I have been here in Albany 76 years of my lifespan and I enjoy living life one day at a time and doing the things that amount to lots to me. That is, I speak to everyone and let them know I recognize them and keep going. I have had the pleasure of writing to The Albany Herald for the past seven years, and I enjoy that.
