ROBERT SHERIDAN: Susie Ealum best choice for Dougherty County School Board
LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Ealum would bring needed leadership quality to board
By Robert Sheridan
The Dougherty County School System needs a fresh, new perspective, and Susie Ealum fills that void with her military leadership and business acumen. She has served eight years in the United States Marine Corps, and Capt. Ealum served as a combat convoy commander during her tour in Afghanistan. Her convoys were attacked 10 times, the last of which resulted in an IED explosion that destroyed her vehicle. The Dougherty County School Board needs someone with this level of leadership experience.
Susie Ealum is a proud mother of two and understands the importance of having a quality education. She excelled as a scholarship student-athlete at Darton State College and continued her education by receiving a full academic scholarship to earn her business management degree from the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia. Susie understands the necessity of implementing new techniques and technology in the classroom.
Susie and her husband, Luke, own and operate a real estate business that provides affordable homes to the community. Dougherty County needs a business-style mindset to improve its school system. The Dougherty County School Board, to put it simply, needs Susie Ealum.
