Albany Deerfield-Windsor girls advance to Final Four

MACON – The Deerfield-Windsor Lady Knights are headed to the GIAA Final Four next weekend at Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville after blasting Frederica Academy 58-24 Friday night at Tatnall Square Academy in Macon.

The Lady Knights will face John Milledge in the semi-finals. The two teams have met twice this season with John Milledge winning the first game and Deerfield-Windsor taking the second one.

Friday night in Macon the Lady Knights outscored Frederica 14-5 in the second quarter and 13-0 in the third to break away for the big win.

The senior three did the most damage for the Lady Knights – Joi Hubbard scored 21 while Murphy Ray and Gabrielle Harris each put in 14. Junior Hampton Rushton added eight points.

The Lady Knights (23-5) will face John Milledge (19-4) at 3 p.m. on Wednesday. The state championship game will be on March 1st at Columbus State.
