The Albany Middle School basketball teams captured both titles at the Terrell County Christmas Tournament last week.

The girls defeated Mitchell County 32-13 in the opening game, led by Sarai Hamilton and Asia Norman. Hamilton scored 12 points, while Norman was flawless at the free-throw line. In the championship game, the Lady Indians rallied to defeat host Terrell County 33-27, with Joniyah Jones scoring nine points and Zy’Deriaka Harris adding eight.

The boys opened the tournament with a narrow 46-41 victory over Mitchell County, powered by Micah Joyner’s 18 points and four assists. Karson Knox contributed 10 points and three assists, while Ernest Townsend dominated the boards with 10 rebounds, adding six points and three blocks. In the championship game, the Indians cruised past Terrell County 60-37. Joyner led the way with 19 points, Knox scored 12, Townsend added nine, and Detavious Poole chipped in eight.
