Albany State bounces back, rolls past Miles
Two-game losing streak snapped as Golden Rams stay unbeaten in SIAC play

Albany State snapped a two-game losing streak Saturday night, defeating Miles 34-9 in SIAC action in Fairfield, Alabama.
The Golden Rams (3-2, 2-0 SIAC) scored 27 first-half points and held Miles without a touchdown.
Albany State took the lead less than five minutes into the contest when quarterback Chancellor Johnson scored on a 2-yard run.
After Miles (2-3, 1-1) connected on a 52-yard field goal early in the second quarter, Albany State scored its second touchdown less than four minutes later on a 1-yard McKinley Habersham run.
Following another Miles field goal, Albany State scored two more touchdowns in the final five minutes of the first half. Ta’Keevian Harris reeled in a 36-yard touchdown pass from Johnson, while Habersham added another 1-yard scoring run with 22 seconds remaining until halftime.
Habersham, who finished with 184 yards on 24 carries, added a third touchdown midway through the third quarter on a 30-yard run.
Albany State racked up 353 rushing yards and enjoyed a 404-269 edge in total yardage.
Kelan Fraise added 86 rushing yards on 12 carries.
Miles’ Sidney Wilson ran for 105 yards on 17 attempts.
Albany State returns home this Saturday when it hosts Lincoln University of Missouri at 2 p.m. at the ASU Coliseum.
