Albany State football playing three home games this fall
West Georgia, Miles, Clark Atlanta only home games on Albany State’s 2018 slate

ALBANY — Gabe Giardina’s second season as Albany State’s football head coach will feature three home games and two neutral-site contests as part of a 10-game slate.
The Golden Rams will have just one non-conference home game, Sept. 15 against West Georgia. Homecoming will take place Oct. 20 against Clark Atlanta, while the other home game will take place Sept. 29 against Miles.
The season opens Sept. 1 at Valdosta State, the fifth straight year the teams have opened the season against each other. The fifth annual White Water Classic game against Tuskegee is slated for Sept. 8 in Phenix City, Alabama, while the Fountain City Classic against Fort Valley State is set for Nov. 3 in Columbus.
Albany State’s other non-conference game is slated for Oct. 6 at Catawba College in Salisbury, North Carolina. The Rams also travel to Lane on Sept. 22, Morehouse on Oct. 13 and Benedict on Oct. 27.
The West Georgia and Miles games are scheduled for 7 p.m. starts. Homecoming and the Fountain City Classic are slated for 2 p.m. kickoffs, while the White Water Classic is slated for a 5 p.m. start time.
Albany State went 6-4 last season, 4-2 in SIAC play. The Rams will hold a spring game at 6 p.m. on April 13.
