Albany State headed to SIAC tournament after final regular season game

ALBANY — The Albany State Golden Rams are headed to the SIAC tournament in Birmingham next week after concluding their regular season with a 64-48 loss to Miles College. Albany State will take the second seed in the East division of the SIAC and will face the winner of the Miles-College – Kentucky State matchup on Thursday, February 28. The tournament is taking place in Birmingham, Ala. at the Bill Harris Arena.
Thursday night at ASU’s West Arena, Miles (17-9) smothered the Golden Rams (9-18) throughout the contest, holding the hosts to just 48 points and no made three pointers.
With six points Alexandria James finishes the regular season as the team’s leading scorer. The junior from Notasulga, Ala. scored 326 points (12.1 per game).
Senior Uchemdirim Ibebunjo led the team in rebounding, collecting 142 boards (5.5 per game).
