Albany State softball swept by Emmanuel
Lady Rams drop two on road

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. — After recording 75 runs and 64 hits in three games last weekend, the Albany State women’s softball team had trouble performing offensively against a team it swept earlier this season.
ASU only scored one run in two games and eventually lost to Emmanuel College 5-1 and 4-0 on Tuesday.
With the losses, the Lady Rams fell to 19-17 overall. Emmanuel improved to 10-20.
In the first game, Albany State found itself behind 3-0 after the first inning. The Lady Lions added two more runs in the bottom of the fourth.
The Lady Rams scored their only run in the top of the fifth inning. Toni Coleman opened the inning with a solo homer.
Albany State only had two hits. Tiffany Massey was the losing pitcher.
In the second game, things didn’t get much better for the Lady Rams. ASU had only two hits.
Aryn McGowan was the losing pitcher for Albany State.
Albany State will return to conference play on April 8-9. The Lady Rams will face archrival Fort Valley State University. Saturday’s doubleheader will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday’s game will also start at 2 p.m.
