Lady Rams compete at Bobcat Invitational

Freshman Channelle Wong recorded a time of 26:04.7 to finish in 36th-place and lead Albany State to a 10th-place finish at the Bobcat Invitational, which was hosted by Georgia College.

It was the first meet of the season for the Lady Rams.

The 6K event featured 14 teams from the NCAA Division II, NAIA and junior college ranks and a total of 121 runners. North Georgia won the overall meet with a time of 2:00:20. Augusta (2:02:00), Valdosta State (2:05:09), Georgia College (2:04:46), Columbus State (2:10:39), Young Harris (2:13:33), Georgia Southwestern (2:13:34), Clayton State (2:16:21) and Armstrong State (2:16:35) finished ahead of ASU in the standings.

Individually for Albany State, freshman Kashia Darville finished 43rd with a time of 26:8.6.

Albany State will return to action on Saturday when it travels to Tallahassee, Fla. to compete in the Bobby Lang Invitational hosted by Florida A&M University. The meet is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m.
