The University of Arizona Board of Regents will hold a private meeting Thursday afternoon to discuss the contract of head basketball coach Sean Miller, among other related items.

The board’s agenda, announced Wednesday, states the 4 p.m. ET meeting will be held for “legal advice and discussion regarding University of Arizona men’s basketball and the multiple-year employment contract for the head men’s basketball coach.”

Sarah Harper, a spokesperson for the Arizona Board of Regents, told ESPN the meeting won’t result in action on Miller’s status as head coach.

“This meeting is not noticed for any action,” Harper said.

Miller hasn’t coached Arizona since an ESPN report last Friday detailed that federal wiretaps intercepted conversations in which Miller discussed paying more than $100,000 to make sure star freshman Deandre Ayton signed with the Wildcats.

In a statement, Miller said it was best for the team for him to sit out and that he is “confident that I will be vindicated.” Associate head coach Lorenzo Romar has run the team in his place.

Miller is in his ninth year with the Wildcats and has a record of 242-72 at the school. He has been named Pac-12 Conference Coach of the Year three times, and Arizona’s Board of Regents approved his contract extension last February that pays him at least $2.9 million a year through 2022.

Miller would receive just over $5 million if he were to be fired without cause, but how much he’d receive if he were to be fired with cause remains unknown despite being a hot topic of debate since the scandal began.
