ALBANY — Atlanta Braves fans will see some familiar faces in the World Series that starts at 8 p.m. on Tuesday in Los Angeles. It will be televised on Fox.

Assuming the NL champion Los Angeles Dodgers and the AL champion Houston Astros maintain the same rosters from their respective league championship series, at least five players who have worn Braves jerseys will participate in the Fall Classic.

The Dodgers have former Braves pitcher Alex Wood, who was dealt to Los Angeles in the Hector Olivera deal that was a bust for Atlanta. After going 21-20 for the Braves, the lefty was 6-10 for the Dodgers going into the 2017 season, where he blossomed with a 16-3 record and sparkling 2.72 ERA.

Four former Braves will line up with the Astros, making its first appearance in the World Series since 2005.

Right-hander Charlie Morton, 33, was a third-round Braves pick in 2002. He pitched one year in Atlanta, leaving for Pittsburgh after a 2008 season in which he went 4-8 with a 6.15 ERA. After seven seasons with the Pirates and an injury-shortened stint with Philadelphia last season, Morton had the best year of his career with the Astros this season, starting 25 games with a 14-7 record, only the second time he reached double digits in wins, and a 3.62 ERA, the second lowest of his career.

Catcher Brian McCann, a Duluth native and second-round pick of the Braves in 2002, had the longest tenure of the five with Atlanta, playing with them in 2005-12. Except for his short rookie season and falling two short in 2007, he hit at least 20 home runs each year for the Braves. McCann left Atlanta as a free agent in 2014 and played three seasons with the New York Yankees before signing with the Astros. In 97 games this year, the 33-year-old catcher hit .241 with 18 home runs and 62 RBI. He has a lifetime batting average of .264 and has hit 263 career home runs.

McCann is joined at catcher and designated hitter by another popular former Braves player, Evan Gattis. In two seasons with Atlanta, Gattis slammed 43 homers and drove in 117 runs before being traded with pitcher James Hoyt to the Astros before the 2016 season for pitchers Mike Foltynewicz and Andrew Thurman, as well as third baseman Rio Ruiz. He hit 32 homers for Houston in 2016 and had a dozen this season. His most important hit, however, was the home run he blasted Saturday night to get the Astros on the scoreboard first for their AL title-clinching game.

Cameron Maybin, an outfielder with the Astros, spent one season with the Braves — 2015. Picked up in the Melvin Upton deal with San Diego that also cost the Braves closer Craig Kimbrel, he had 10 home runs and 23 stolen bases that year before being traded to Detroit for a pair of left-handed pitchers. He opened 2017 with the Los Angeles Angels, with Houston picking him up in a waiver claim. Between the two teams this season, he batted .228 with 10 homers and 33 stolen bases.
