Atlanta Falcons add former Georgia star Charlie Woerner, sign three more

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — The Atlanta Falcons have signed former Georgia star tight end Charlie Woerner to a three-year contract, wide receiver KhaDarel Hodge and offensive lineman Storm Norton to a one-year contracts.
Late Thursday afternoon the Falcons also agreed to terms for wide receiver Rondale Moore from the Arizona Cardinals in exchange for quarterback Desmond Ridder, pending physicals.
Moore was originally selected by the Arizona Cardinals in the second round (49th overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft out of Purdue. The 5-foot-7, 180-pound wide receiver has recorded 1,450 scrimmage yards (1,201 receiving, 249 rushing) and four touchdowns (three receiving, one rushing) in 39 games (23 starts) over three seasons with the Cardinals.
In 2023, Moore appeared in all 17 games (eight starts), recording 40 receptions for 352 yards (8.8 avg.) and one touchdown while adding 178 rushing yards on 28 carries (6.4 avg.) and one rushing touchdown for Arizona.
Woerner was originally selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the sixth round (190th overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft out of Georgia. The 6-foot-5, 241-pound tight end has appeared in 65 games (seven starts) for the 49ers and was primarily used as an in-line, blocking tight end. Since entering the league, the Tiger native has recorded 11 receptions for 120 yards and 25 special teams tackles (17 solo). He played at the University of Georgia from 2016 to 2019.
In 2023, Woerner helped block for a 49ers offense that finished tied for the league lead in rushing touchdowns (27), third in rushing yards per game (140.5) and fourth in rushing yards per attempt (4.8 avg.).
In his second season with the Falcons, Hodge recorded career highs in receptions (14) and receiving yards (232), while adding four special teams tackles in 17 games (four starts) in 2023.
The 29-year-old was originally signed by the Rams following the 2018 NFL Draft out of Prairie View A&M. He has recorded 57 receptions for 864 receiving yards (15.2 avg.) and one touchdown on offense, and 33 special teams tackles over the past six seasons for the Rams, Browns, Lions and Falcons.
Norton appeared in 12 games (four starts) for the Falcons in 2023, contributing on offense and special teams. He started three games at right tackle and played 54 snaps on special teams, primarily on the field goal unit. In his three starts on offense in 2023, the Falcons offense averaged 348 total yards per game and had the second-lowest opponent pressure rate at 27.8 percent in Weeks 14-16.
The 6-foot-7, 317-pound offensive lineman was originally signed by the Detroit Lions following the 2017 NFL Draft out of Toledo. Norton has appeared in 50 games (21 starts) over five seasons with the Vikings, Chargers and Falcons.
