Atlanta Falcons add Ring of Honor member Todd McClure, bolster football operations staff

FLOWERY BRANCH — The Atlanta Falcons continued reshaping their football operations department Tuesday, hiring former standout center and Ring of Honor member Todd McClure as coordinator of player development and senior personnel assistant while announcing six other front office additions.

McClure returns to the organization where he spent his entire 14-year NFL career. In his new role, he will help oversee the club’s player development program, coordinating cross-functional initiatives while assisting football leadership with player-focused and strategic projects.

A seventh-round draft pick in 1999, McClure became one of the most durable and respected offensive linemen in franchise history. After missing his rookie season because of injury, he appeared in 198 games with 195 starts and set a Falcons franchise record by making 144 consecutive starts from 2001-10.

McClure helped pave the way for several of the franchise’s top offensive performers, blocking for three different 1,000-yard rushers and helping quarterback Michael Vick and running back Warrick Dunn each eclipse the 1,000-yard rushing mark during the 2006 season. He was inducted into the Falcons Ring of Honor in 2022.

Atlanta also strengthened its scouting department by hiring Daniel Clements as a BLESTO scout, Kevin Melore and Keith Earle Jr. as area scouts, Justin Hickman as a national scout and Max Blank as a scouting assistant.

Clements joins the Falcons after working as a personnel assistant at Texas last season following three years as assistant director of player personnel at Texas A&M.

Melore earned a promotion after serving as Atlanta’s scouting assistant in 2025. Before joining the Falcons, he worked in player personnel at Texas and previously played quarterback at Long Island University and Pace University.

Earle arrives after five seasons with the Chicago Bears, where he progressed from training camp scouting intern to area scout. Hickman brings professional scouting experience from the New England Patriots, XFL and Canadian Football League after a playing career that included time with the Indianapolis Colts.

Blank returns to Atlanta after spending the past two seasons as a rotational analyst in the NFL league office. He previously interned with both the Falcons and Los Angeles Rams while attending the University of Tennessee.

The Falcons also named Frank Wintrich assistant director of strength and conditioning.

Wintrich brings more than two decades of performance training experience at the professional, collegiate and government levels. Most recently, he served as director of health and fitness for the National Defense University after previously holding leadership positions with the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Army. His collegiate résumé includes stops at UCLA, Virginia, BYU, North Texas, South Florida, The Citadel, Utah State and Arizona State.

The hires continue the Falcons’ offseason effort to strengthen both their player development and personnel departments as the organization prepares for the 2026 season.
