Baseball America ranks Georgia, Georgia Tech in preseason top 25

Georgia opens the 2022 college baseball season with a ranking of No. 14, according to Baseball America, it was announced Monday.

Georgia Tech also is in the preseason rankings, coming in at No. 21. Georgia is one of eight Southeastern Conference teams in the top 25. While Texas occupies the top spot, Vanderbilt and Mississippi State are No. 2 and 3 — those two squared off in last year’s College World Series finals. The other SEC teams in the poll are Florida (No. 6), Arkansas (No. 8), Ole Miss (No. 9), LSU (No. 10) and Tennessee (No. 17).

In addition to Georgia Tech, the ACC teams in the poll are Notre Dame (No. 4), Virginia (No. 5), Florida State (No. 12), North Carolina State (No. 16) and Miami (No. 25).
