The Blue Tide broke team records, recorded individual wins and achieved new time standards at Auburn University earlier this month at the 11th annual Ralph Crocker Classic.

Emma Elliot of Albany and a Blue Tide standout, recorded a personal-best in the 11-12 girls 100-yard breastsroke by almost two seconds as well as half-second improvements in the 50-yard breaststroke and backstroke. Her coach attributed her success to her “tremendous work ethic.”

Landry Liston, also of Albany, recorded personal bests in all her events and a ‘B’ time in the 10-and under 100-yard I.M.

Alex Collins recorded personal bests and ‘B’ times in all of his events; while Madison Keen set a personal best in the 10-and under girls 50-yard freestyle by more than a second.

Alison Bell swam a new Blue Tide team record in the 11-12 girls 500-yard freestyle (5:40.41) and rewrote her own record from last month in the 100 fly (1:05.80). And Antony DeMott, Blue Tide’s sprint specialist, won the A final in both the 13-14 boys 50 free (22.28) and 100 free (48.65).

The squad was given excellent support and personal bests recorded by Daniel Iordanov, Taylor Humphrey, Tissa Evans, Marianna DeTitta, Ada Ruth Larson, Kelli Hill, Lanna Bell, Lynnsey Bell, Cole Parkinson and Jordan Brown.

The Blue Tide offers a free week of training for interested swimmers at the Georgia Southwestern State University pool Monday through Thursday from 4-5 p.m. and at the Albany State College pool from 5-6 p.m. You can also visit www.georgiabluetide.com or call (229) 924-3863 for more information.
