Blue Tide’s Antony DeMott sets team record at state championships

The Blue Tide Swim Team’s 14-year old sprint star Antony DeMott won the ‘C’ final at the Georgia Short Course State Swimming Championships last month.
DeMott set a new team record in the 100-yard freestyle (47.91), swimming against competitors twice his age. DeMott was the fastest in his age group by more than a second and a half. Demott set a personal best winning the ‘D’ final of the 50-yard freestyle (21.77) and was fastest in his age group by more than half a second. He completed his stellar swims with personal bests in the 100-yard breastroke (1:05.50) and the 100-yard backstroke (56.55).
The Blue Tide will compete at the Ralph Crocker Classic at Auburn University with a team of 13 that includes — Taylor Bacon, Allison Bell, Lanna Bell, Lynnsey Bell, Jordan Brown, Timothy Chase-Hill, Alex Collins, Antony DeMott, Kalman DeMott, Eleanor Driggers, Emma Elliott, Tissa Evans, Kelli Hill, Taylor Humphrey, Daniel Iordanov, Madison Keen, Ada Larson, Landry Liston and Cole Parkinson.
