Braves and Mets rained out Tuesday

NEW YORK — Tuesday’s series opener between the Atlanta Braves and the host New York Mets has been postponed due to rain.
The contest will be made up on Sept. 25 as part of a doubleheader.
Atlanta ace Julio Teheran will be pushed back one day to face Noah Syndergaard of the Mets. There will again be a heavy threat of rain on Wednesday.
Teheran will start in place of knuckleballer R.A. Dickey, who was originally slated to start on Wednesday. Robert Gsellman was the scheduled Tuesday starter for the Mets.
New York left fielder Yoenis Cespedes was slated to be in Tuesday’s lineup after being sidelined since injuring his left hamstring last Thursday.
The now two-game series concludes on Thursday.
