WASHINGTON — Atlanta Braves left fielder Matt Kemp left Wednesday’s road game against the Washington Nationals with an apparent leg injury.
The Braves left fielder came up holding his leg after he slid into third and was tagged out in the top of the third inning. Kemp was on first base when catcher Jose Lobaton tried to pick him off. The ball sailed into right field, where Bryce Harper threw out Kemp at third.
Danny Santana took over in left field in the last of the third.
Kemp struck out in the first and singled in the third. He is hitting .327 with 11 homers and 32 RBIs and hit fourth in the Atlanta order Wednesday.
The Braves did not have an immediate report on his condition.
