Braves to honor Brian Snitker with Hall of Fame honor

ATLANTA — Few figures in franchise history have meant more to the Atlanta Braves than Brian Snitker.

Later this month, the organization will make that official.

The Braves announced that Snitker, the club’s longtime coach and World Series-winning manager, will be inducted into the Braves Hall of Fame during a special pregame ceremony on Saturday, April 25, at Truist Park.

The ceremony will take place prior to the Braves’ 7:15 p.m. game against the Philadelphia Phillies and is expected to draw a large gathering of franchise legends.

Several Braves Hall of Famers representing multiple eras of the organization are scheduled to return for the event, including Tom Glavine, Andruw Jones, Chipper Jones, Dale Murphy, Ralph Garr, Tim Hudson and David Justice.

Longtime executive John Schuerholz, former MVP Terry Pendleton, pitching coach Leo Mazzone and broadcaster Joe Simpson are also expected to take part.

The pregame ceremony will include tribute videos, speeches and the presentation of a Hall of Fame jacket and plaque, honoring Snitker’s decades-long impact on the organization.

Snitker’s journey with the Braves is unlike most in modern baseball. A fixture in the organization for more than four decades, he worked his way through the minor league system before taking over as manager in 2016. He later guided the franchise to a World Series championship in 2021, cementing his place among the most respected figures in club history.

This induction serves as a celebration not just of wins and championships, but of loyalty, perseverance and a career spent almost entirely in one uniform.

On April 25, the Braves will pause to recognize that legacy — and to welcome one of their own into the Hall of Fame.
