Brookwood announced Jason Jones as the Snellville high school’s new head girls lacrosse coach this week.

Jones was promoted after serving as assistant head lacrosse coach the past five seasons under previous head coach Dawn Thomas, who stepped down after the 2023 season. The two coaches teamed up to help the Broncos to the Class AAAAAAA Elite Eight — the best showing in school history — last season.

Jones played key roles in the team’s offense, defense and conditioning, which led the program’s first region title last season.

The Albany native and Westover High graduate also has coached football and flag football at Brookwood. He played college football at Ole Miss, where he earned the prestigious Chucky Mullins Courage Award.
