Chastity Pickett named “Most Outstanding Female Athlete” at conference championship in NYC

NEW YORK CITY – From Albany, Ga., to New York City, Westover grad Chastity Pickett is still winning. The Campbell University senior track and field star was named the “Most Oustanding Female Athlete” at the Coastal Athletic Association’s Indoor Track and Field Championships Friday night at the Armory in New York City.

Pickett, still the 300m Hurdles record holder at Westover, scored the most points of any student-athlete at the competition in her CAA Championship debut for Campbell. Pickett tallied 27.5 points to earn Most Outstanding Track Performer accolades. The senior set a conference record in the 200m to win gold after second-place finishes in the 60m hurdles and 60m dash before All-CAA honors in the 4x400m relay. 

Campbell finished third as a team. Northeastern University from Boston won the conference title and Elon University from North Carolina finished second.

Chastity, a 2019 graduate of Westover, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Pickett of Albany.
