Deerfield Windsor beats Brookwood on tennis courts

ALBANY — Deerfield Windsor’s tennis teams won important region contests Monday at Albany State West and the Lady Knights swept Brookwood 5-0 and remained perfect on the season with a 10-0 record. The Knights won both doubles matches and took the #3 singles as a forfeit to win 3-2 and put them in contention for the region title.
For the Lady Knights:
#1 Singles – Sophie Singleton (DW) def. Cricket Daniel (BHS) 6-0, 6-1;
#2 Singles – Lizzie Moorhead (DW) def. Abby Cook (BHS) 6-9, 6-0;
#3 Singles Elizabeth Leveson (DW) def. Brett Heath 6-1, 6-4;
#1 Doubles: Jackie Houston & Lela Leveson (DW)def. Abby Lee & Anna Stencil (BHS) 6-1, 7-6 (7-3);
#2 Doubles: Haley Halford & Jia Patel (DW) def. Riley Pollock & Lauren Ryan (BHS);
6-0, 6-3.
For the Knights:
Playing #1 Singles – Andrew Cooper (BHS) def. Thomas Peeler (DW) 6-0, 6-0.
#2 Singles – Jack Thompson (BHS) def. Kale Banks 6-0, 6-0
#3 Singles was forfeited by Brookwood
#1 Doubles: Bo Williams & Ellis Holton (DW) def. Nic Kadel & Alden Harrison 6-4, 7-5
#2 Doubles: Charles Peeler & Brooks Margeson (DW) def. Taylor Huffman & Alex Kadel (BHS) 6-2, 6-1
The boys improve to 8-2. The next match will be today, Wednesday, March 20th- DWS vs. Tiftarea. The Knights and Lady Knights will host the game at ASU West beginning at 3 p.m.
