ALBANY – The Deerfield-Windsor Knights cruised to their 13th win of the season Tuesday night, dominating Southland Academy 62-34. In the girls’ game, Southland Academy claimed a 40-29 victory over the Lady Knights.

The Knights wasted no time establishing control in the boys’ game, erupting for a 21-3 lead in the first quarter. Senior Mason Johnson scored eight points in the opening period, while David Hutchins drained two three-pointers to fuel the early surge. Deerfield-Windsor led 39-13 at halftime and never looked back.

Johnson finished as the game’s top scorer with 17 points, and Hutchins added 16. For Southland, Jamarcus Walker led with 14 points, and Ben Haugabook contributed nine.

In the girls’ game, the Lady Knights and Lady Raiders were locked at 18-18 at halftime, thanks in large part to Deerfield-Windsor’s Tamiah Brown. Brown scored all 11 of the Lady Knights’ second-quarter points to keep the game even.

However, Southland’s defense clamped down on Brown in the second half, holding her to just five points. As a result, the Lady Knights managed only 11 points in the final two quarters, allowing Southland to pull away for the win.

Brown finished with a season-high 21 points. Grace Burrell led the Lady Raiders with 12 points, and Adler Rae Owens chipped in nine.
